Sept 2005 - Alaska Trip

Sept 13-14, 2005  Arrival in Salcha, and Moose Hunting

North Pole, Alaska - Halfway between Fairbanks and Salcha Beautiful fall colors, and possibly clear weather for the auroras. Common sight - Truck and trailer loaded with four-wheelers. Green sign ahead says "Leaving Eielson AFB".

My cat enjoys a shrew.  She's 10 years old - the same as my oldest daughter.

 This owl was very curious upon our leaving for the day.  He landed on our tree stand to watch us as we left. Close-up view of the owl.  We didn't get moose, but the trip was very successful in other ways!
